TWYMAN SPRINGS TO THIRD IN BRITISH SUPERSPORT TABLE FOR EHA RACING

EHA Racing’s Ross Twyman holds third place in the 2018 British Supersport Championship table after hard-fought sixth and fourth placed finishes over the weekend, during round two of this year’s series on the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.

The mild-mannered 22-year-old from Canterbury showed a new level of grit and determination in Sunday’s feature British Supersport race in less than perfect conditions, taking fourth after a strong start from the second row of the grid. His team-mate David Allingham is seventh in the championship standings. The Eglinton rider would openly admit that eighth and twelfth placed finishes at Brands are well below his lofty ambitions for the 2018 campaign – but will be back stronger for the May Day Bank Holiday meeting next time out. Ross Twyman: “It wasn’t a bad weekend considering we were inside the top six in qualifying – P3 at one point – and to go on to take sixth on Saturday and fourth today [Sunday], but I know where I need to improve. I know I have the pace to run with the front guys, I just need to improve my starts and track position in the early laps, as I’m currently making it hard work for myself. It’s certainly motivating to hold third place in the championship standings after the opening two rounds, but we are capable of more here at EHA Racing and that’s the goal. Thanks to everyone for the support, both in and out of the garage.”

Team Manager – Gail Allingham: “The Supersport side of the EHA Racing team garage maybe hasn’t enjoyed the same sort of early success as the Superstock guys this season, but full credit to Ross for his weekend at Brands and holding third place in the championship standings coming out of round two is no mean feat. David’s has had a turbulent start to the year, but we all know what he is capable of and have every faith he can really get his season underway at Oulton. It’s a big team effort here at EHA Racing with both sides of the garage pulling in one direction, so we are relatively satisfied with our start to the year. Thanks as always to our sponsors for their support. See you all at round three.”
